Are you considering skin rejuvenation with fractional RF, microdermabrasion, clinical peels or potent peptide facials? Pre and post skin rejuvenation care will not only ensure your skin is in optimum condition to withstand the intensity of the treatments, but will also promote faster skin recovery and ensure longer lasting results.
2 WEEKS BEFORE SKIN REJUVENATION
You need to start getting your skin ready at least 2 weeks before you commence your course of skin rejuvenation treatments. For all skin rejuvenation treatments, your skin has to be well-hydrated and free of inflammation and infection. Most people in Australia experience some degree of dehydration so a good quality cleansing routine that will condition your skin and a hyaluronic acid rich moisturizer will ensure your skin is in optimum condition. If your skin is severely dehydrated, you may need to use a booster or serum for at least a month before rejuvenation treatments.
If you are correcting for sun damage, pigmentation or brown age spots, begin using a Vitamin C serum at least two weeks before skin rejuvenation. This will help retard melanin production ensuring best outcomes. There are cleansers, toners and moisturizers we have available which also contain vitamin C which will deliver even more dramatic results.
POST TREATMENT SKIN CARE
Getting into the habit of wearing a good sunscreen of at least SPF 30+ is essential before and an absolute must after skin rejuvenation treatments. Your skin can be more photosensitive so it is essential you protect your skin from the sun and avoiding sun exposure for at least 48 hours after a skin rejuvenation treatment.
Active skincare that contains retinol or AHAs should be discontinued at least one week prior to skin rejuvenation and can be resumed 1-2 weeks after skin rejuvenation, depending on the intensity of the treatment.
Post care is critical to maximizing results. If you are looking to minimize lines and firm the skin, skin care with peptides will boost collagen production. If you are looking to fade pigmentation, skincare with vitamin C will give you best results.
Skin rejuvenation procedures can transform the skin, and pre and post skincare is critical to gain best results. It is best to book a skin consultation with your beauty therapist at least two weeks prior to commencing your first treatment. Your beauty therapist will check the skin care you are using and what products you can and can’t use prior to skin rejuvenation.
