Do you get hormonal breakouts on your chin? These painful lumps can appear on the chin overnight! They seem to always pop up in the same spot, one or two or a few deep, painful, red, huge pimples on the chin! These can be stubborn to treat, but we have several treatment options to help you get rid of these irritating breakouts fast!
If the pimple is deep, red, painful, swollen and doesn’t have a whitehead on it, then we would not touch it. These type of lesion is too deep in the skin, and you can cause massive trauma trying to get it out. If you decide to squeeze a deep pimple, you’ll break and tear the skin which will take weeks or even months to heal over. You will end up with a red swollen lesion that’ll last you for months and possibly also scar permanently.
If you wake up in the morning and you see a painful pimple with a whitehead right on the tip, then this can be safely and gently extracted. The white or yellow puss in the middle of the lesion can be gently eased out if you first clean your skin and also make sure your hands are clean too. Best done after a shower, when your skin has softened from the steam. Wrap some tissues around your fingertips, and gently press down on either side of the pimple. Positioning your fingers, so they move slightly under the pimple to help push the content out of the skin. The most important thing when you do this is that you must be gentle and don’t be too rough and aggressive. Otherwise, you will damage capillaries and collagen in your skin. If you try to ease the puss out gently and it resists, it’s not ready, so give it a day or two before you try again. There are ointments, serums and masks we have that will help to draw the infection out to the surface to it will be easier to extract.
