If you’re not born with thick, long, and lush eyelashes, you’d probably understand the struggle of making your eyelashes look fuller and longer. There’s no denying that eyelashes can transform your appearance completely, and that’s the reason women have always loved and enjoyed falsies or mascaras. But it can be frustrating and time-consuming to get those dazzling eyelashes every morning. Enhancing the eyes is why eyelash extensions are so popular, you don’t have to worry about applying mascara every morning. Eyelash extensions are a more long-lasting shortcut to amazing eyelashes. It’s no wonder that they have become so popular. In this article, we will share our professional tips and advice for the perfect eyelash extensions and tips to maintain them post-treatment. So, keep on reading!
So what are eyelash extensions exactly?
Lash extensions are semi-permanent extensions applied one by one to your natural lashes. They are used to darken, extend, and add volume to your lashes. They look quite similar to your natural lashes, but of course, better. Eyelash extensions come in different lengths (ranging from 6mm to 17mm), and three main types; silk, mink, and synthetic. Your lash technician will decide which type is best for you, depending on your desired results and your natural lashes. Silk and synthetic eyelashes are used to create a more dramatic and uniform look while mink eyelashes give a more natural and flirty appearance.
How long will it take to have a full set of eyelashes done?
Once you and your technician have decided which eyelashes are suitable for you, it’s time to glue those lashes to the base of your natural lashes. The process may seem painstakingly long, but patience and carefulness is the key to flawless and lasting results. Your eyelash extension expert will isolate your natural lashes and adhere the extensions to each of them carefully. Just the right amount of glue is needed, not too much and not too little. A professional therapist who has undergone professional training and has extensive experience will know how to apply just the right amount. A full set of lashes can take around two hours to apply correctly.
How Long Do They Last?
Eyelash extensions can last up to 3 months with touch-ups and proper maintenance. Since each of your eyelashes has its growth cycle, your extensions won’t fall out all at once. Eyelash extensions are glued on your natural lashes, and your natural lashes fall out at the end of their growth cycle (about three months) while new lashes grow. You need to come in regularly to have eyelash extensions applied on the new lashes to keep your lashes looking even. To have them looking their very best, it’s best if you come in and have them filled-in every two weeks. Some people stretch it out to 3 weeks, but this will cost more as there will be more eyelash extensions that need to be applied and it will take longer.
How Are They Removed?
Your lash extensions will fall out with the shedding of your natural lashes. If for any reason you need to have your eyelash extension removed before then, you must visit a salon to get them removed safely. Do not attempt to pick or pull them off yourself as this will damage your natural lashes, and you may even pull your natural lashes out. Getting lash extensions removed is even easier than having them applied. It doesn’t take long and its quick and easy, done by a professional to avoid damaging your lashes.
